Our River Test, Grayling day has arrived.
Fishing London staff are very pleased to announce our new fly fishing package is now
available. Fly fishing for Grayling on the gin clear chalk stream waters of the River Test in Hampshire.
Some folk may have heard of the River Test. It's a very well known and written about River.
Isaak Walton wrote about it back in 17th century in his book “The Complete Fisherman" and its been fished by royalty and the lucky alike ever since. But for those who have fished it , It remains the personal number one choice of many.
Days on this awesome river dont come cheap. In the summer some beats command over £300 per person per day for catch and release fishing, Which make the River Test with out doubt one of the most expensive trout waters in the UK.
Each November though the Grayling season starts and for those in the know and more importantly “in the club” there is some sensibly priced fishing available. We’re lucky enough this year to be able to offer Fishing London clients a day grayling fishing with local guide and qualified Angling Trust coach Steve Dowling. Steve has access to this most private estates in the Test Valley and you’ll feel like royalty when you arrive and fish this mind blowing location.
The beat is made up 3/4 mile of the River Test and a further 1/2 mile of carrier which is in some places is wide and dare I say it, contains a better concentration of fish than the main river.
We have single bank access to the entire stretch. Some wading is allowed in certain areas.
Close by are many great pubs to which you can retire to warm up of refuel should you wish.
Water is located just 5 minutes from Romsey town centre and is serviced by a rail and bus station. Trains from London via Southampton are frequent and reliable.
This package is available now through to Feb 2015. We can only offer the package 2 days per week. Due to the land owners rules only 1 rod may fish with a guide per day.
